Diplomatic History

Diplomatic relations between the Philippines and the Kingdom of Bahrain were established on 27 November 1978.

Initially, the Philippine Ambassador to Saudi Arabia was accredited as non-resident Ambassador to Bahrain. In 1989, jurisdiction over Bahrain was transferred to the Philippine Embassy in the U.A.E.

On 18 April 1992, the Philippine Government opened an Embassy in Manama.
The first resident Philippine Ambassador to Bahrain was H.E. Leonides T. Caday (1992-94). He was succeeded by Akmad A. Sakkam (1994-99), Rodolfo I. Dumapias (1999-2002), Candidato B. Gutoc (2002-2003) and Eduardo Pablo M. Maglaya (2003-2009), H.E. Ma. Corazon Yao-Bahjin (2009-2012)H.E. Ambassador Sahid S. Glang (13 May 2013 to 31 March 2015)

H.E. Ambassador Alfonso A. Ver is the current Philippine Ambassador to Kingdom of Bahrain. 

Hon. Amable Cruz Aguiluz IX is the current Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Bahrain to RP.
