PHILIPPINE EMBASSY IN MANAMA HOSTS MEDICAL MISSION AND BLOOD DONATION DRIVE
13 January 2016 – On 8 January 2016, Pinay! Ikaw Na (PIN) spearheaded a Medical Mission and Blood Donation Drive in coordination with the Philippine Embassy in Bahrain, which served as the venue for the occasion.
Aside from the blood donation drive, the medical mission also offered other services including blood pressure testing, random glucose screening, dental and optical check-up.
Other organizations who helped in the successful drive are the Overseas Workers Welfare Association (OWWA), King Hamad University Hospital, Philippine Nurses Association (PNA), Cherry Spa, Eye Care Optical Center, United Muslim Association (UMA), Pilipino sa Bansang Bahrain (PBB), Filipino-American Association, ACRO, Bikers, Kaisahan ng mga Pilipino sa Bahrain, Discover Islam, Muslim Tausug Association of Bahrain (MTAB) and Pinoy Guild sa Bahrain, Almareej Manpower, Travellers Tribe, Arabian Star, Houras, National Detergent Company (NDC) – D’zire and the New Cabalen Resto.
More than 200 members of the Filipino Community took advantage of the free medical services and a total of 55 bags of blood have been collected from donors. Philippine Ambassador to Bahrain, H.E. Alfonso A. Ver, and other officers and staff of the Embassy were also present during the event. END.
