PHILIPPINE EMBASSY IN BAHRAIN ATTENDS MANGO MANIA 2016 OPENING
H.E. Amb. Alfonso Ver, the Embassy staff, and the new Foreign Service Officers enjoying the different mango treats at Mango Mania 2016 held at the LuLu Hypermarket in Bahrain
23 May 2016 – The Philippine Embassy in Bahrain attended this year’s Mango Mania Kick-Off, an annual mango festival organized by the LuLu Hypermarket, one of the biggest supermarket chains in the Gulf region. The event was held at LuLu Hypermarket’s newest branch at the Galleria Mall Bahrain in the Zinj District.
Philippine Ambassador to Bahrain, H.E. Amb. Alfonso Ver, was joined at the event by the Embassy staff, six new DFA Foreign Service Officers who were visiting Bahrain as part of the Apprenticeship Program, as well as members of the Filipino community led by Ms. Antonette Avila. During the event, guests were treated to a feast to showcase different ways to enrich dishes and desserts using mango as the main ingredient.
Mango Mania features over 100 varieties of the “King of Fruits” imported from countries such as the Philippines, India, and Indonesia. A wide array of mango products was also made available for the customers to enjoy. The festival has become very popular among LuLu Hypermarket customers and is one of their most anticipated events held every year.
