MANAMA PE HOLDS TRAININGS FOR DISTRESSED OFWS SHELTERED AT MIGRANT WORKERS AND OTHER OVERSEAS FILIPINOS RESOURCE CENTER (MWOFRC)

Manama PE reported that training programs for distressed OFWs currently sheltered at the Embassy’s Migrant Workers and Other Overseas Filipinos Resource Center (MWOFRC) were held from 29 June 2014 to 27 September 2014.

Organized by POLO-OWWA, the training sessions on Gift Wrapping and Flower Arrangements

werefacilitated by Filipino volunteer trainers namely, Mr. Esmeraldo C. Baliber, Mr. Lito Go Culaban, Mr. Bernardino Cayanan, and Mr. YaniJinetaGaron. Training on Food Preparations was facilitated by Ms. Ma. Cecilia V. Morales, caterer and owner of a restaurant in Bahrain, and training on Computer Literacy were undertaken, was facilitated by Mr. Ian J. Ticarof OWWA.

Eight (8) training sessions were conducted for Gift Wrapping and Flower Arrangement, which started on 29 June 2014 up to 01 September 2014. Five (5) training sessions were held for Food Preparations, from 29 August 2014 up to 27 September 2014, and two (2) training sessions for Computer Literacy, the first one was on 28 June 2014, and the second was on 06 September 2014.

A total of 30 wards who are temporary sheltered at the MWOFRC while waiting for the release of their exit clearances either for repatriation, or for transfer to new employers, benefited from the said trainings.

A closing ceremony for the said training programs was held on 28 September 2014 at the Embassy. The 30 wards were awarded Certificates of Attendance and Completion. The trainors were also present at the closing ceremony. END.
