PASSPORT

RELEASING OF PASSPORTS

* For passports to be claimed by another person, only immediate family members (spouse, parents, siblings, adult children) are allowed to claim the passport on behalf of the applicant, with an authorization letter and valid ID of the representative.

VISA                          

VISA APPLICATION 

Due to the system maintenance of the Online Visa Application System, visa applications are processed manually. All Foreign nationals who wish to apply for 9(a) Temporary Visitor's Visa may send an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., stating their request and date of flight to the Philippines.

Procedure:

  1. The applicant shall inform the Philippine Embassy through email address, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
  2. The Visa Officer will evaluate the application and will inform the applicant of the documentary requirements, schedule of submission, and payment of visa fee, etc.

Requirements:

The following are the minimum requirements for applying for a temporary visitor’s visa:

  1. Personal appearance
  2. Print-out of Application Form from the OVAS
  3. One (1) passport size photo (taken within the last 6 months)
  4. Original and photocopy of passport
  5. CPR card
  6. Roundtrip ticket
  7. Latest bank statement or financial capacity to travel
  8. Hotel booking or Invitation letter from the Philippine sponsor, with a copy of the sponsor’s passport or any Identification Card or Employment Certificate

Additional requirements may be requested on the following cases

  • For Non-Bahraini national: Residence Permit or re-entry visa for more than six (6) months at the time of travel
  • For recruitment purpose: Letter of Authority from the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) authorizing the applicant to recruit/interview Filipino workers. Must apply for a Special Work Permit (SPW) at the Bureau of Immigration upon arrival in Manila
  • For Medical treatment: Medical Certificate attested by the Bahrain Ministry of Health and letter of acceptance from Physician/Medical Institute in the Philippines
  • If married to a Filipino citizen: Photocopy of PSA Marriage Contract and copy of spouse’s passport
  • For Foreign Nationals of certain countries: List of Countries whose nationals require a Bahrain CID Good Conduct. (Click Here)
  • For multiple-entry visa application: Letter of intent indicating the applicant’s purpose for multiple-entry to the Philippines

Important Reminders

  • Additional requirements may be requested if necessary. Please note that the decision to grant a visa is not made by the Consular Officer alone. Submission of the requirements/documents as listed is not a guarantee that you will be issued a visa.
  • OVAS is a portal for the INITIAL SUBMISSION of visa applications It does NOT constitute automatic approval or processing of the visa request.
  • The OVAS only accepts 9(a) visa applications. For other types of visa applications (example: 9c and 9e), please coordinate with the Visa Officer for more information regarding the application process.
  • Before their flight, travelers to the Philippines are advised to check the websites of the Department of Health and of the Bureau of Immigration regarding applicable COVID-19 entry protocols.

VISA-FREE FOREIGN NATIONALS

Foreign nationals of the following countries may enter the Philippines visa-free and may stay therein not exceeding thirty (30) days (Executive Order 408, S. 1960, as amended), subject to conditions*:

*Conditions:

1. They have valid tickets to their next country of destination not later than 30 days from date of arrival in the Philippines.

2. They have passports valid for a period of at least 6 months at the time of arrival in the Philippines.

Also, the following foreign nationals may enter the Philippines visa-free, subject to conditions*:

1. Holders of Hong Kong SAR passports (14 days)

2. Holders of Macau SAR passports (14 days)

3. Holders of Macau-Portuguese and Hong Kong British passports (7 days)

4. Chinese nationals with a valid Australian, Japanese, Canadian, Schengen, or US visa (7 days)

5. Indian nationals with a valid Australian, Japanese, Canadian, Singaporean, Schengen, US, or UK visa (14 days)

MARRIAGE SOLEMNIZATION (Marriage will be solemnized at the Embassy)

  4. Photocopy of valid residence permit of the contracting parties
  5. Original PSA Birth Certificate of the contracting parties
  6. Original Certificate of No Record of Marriage (CENOMAR) issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) issued within the last six (6) months and duly Apostillized by the Department of Foreign Affairs. *Please note that CENOMAR must have EXACTLY the same details with the Birth Certificate
  7. Two (2) (2x2) pictures of each of the contracting parties

Additional documents may be required in the following cases:

  • Parental consent if between the ages 18 and 21 yrs. old OR Parental advice if ages 22 and 25 yrs. old. If parents are in the Philippines, Parental Consent/Advice should be notarized by nearest notary public, authenticated by the Regional Trial Court & Apostillized by the Department of Foreign Affairs
  • If annulled, original PSA Annotated Marriage Certificate, DFA Apostillized Court Judgment/Decision and DFA Apostillized Certificate of Finality

LEGAL CAPACITY TO CONTRACT MARRIAGE

  3. Original Birth Certificate issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)
  4. Original Certificate of No Record of Marriage (CENOMAR) issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) issued within the last six (6) months and duly Apostillized by the Department of Foreign Affairs. *Please note that CENOMAR must have EXACTLY the same details with the Birth Certificate
  5. Original Parental consent if between the ages 18 and 21 yrs. old or Parental advice if ages 22 and 25 yrs. old. If parents are in the Philippines, Parental Consent/Advice should be notarized by nearest notary public, authenticated by the Regional Trial Court & the Department of Foreign Affairs
  6. No Objection letter from  employer/sponsor of each contracting party

 REPORT OF BIRTH (Please present original and provide 5 copies)        

  1. Duly accomplished Report of Birth form (available at the Embassy and downloads section of the website)
  2. Original Birth Certificate duly authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bahrain
  3. Photocopies of first page of parents' valid passport including the pages where their residence visas are stamped
  4. Original PSA-Report of Marriage (if married abroad) or Original PSA Marriage Contractof parents (if married in the Philippines)
  5. Affidavit of Delayed Registration of Birth (if not reported within one (1) year) (BD 10.340)

REPORT OF MARRIAGE (Please present original and provide 4 copies)     

  1. Duly accomplishedReport of Marriage form (available at the Embassy and downloads section of the website)
  2. Original Marriage Contract(with English Translation if in Arabic or other language) authenticated by the Ministry of Justice and Islamic Affairs and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bahrain
  3. Photocopies of passports of each contracting parties including the pages where their residence visas are stamped
  4. Original Certificate of Legal Capacity to Contract Marriage issued by the Philippine Embassy Bahrain
  5. Original PSA Birth Certificate
  6. Original Certificate of No Record of Marriage (CENOMAR) issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) issued within the last six (6) months and duly Apostillized by the Department of Foreign Affairs.
  7. Original Parental Consent if between the ages 18 and 21 yrs. old or Parental Advice if ages 22 and 25 yrs. old. If parents are in the Philippines, Parental Consent/Advice notarized by the nearest notary public, and authenticated by Regional Trial Court and Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA)
  8. Affidavit of Delayed Registration of Marriage (if not reported within one (1) year) (BD 10.340)

REPORT OF DEATH

(Please submit/present the original and provide 5 photocopies)

  1. Duly accomplished Report of Death form (available at the Embassy and downloads section of the website);
  2. Death Certificate issued by the Information and eGovernment Authority;
  3. Submit the original passport of the deceased;
  4. Provide a certificate for one of the following:
    1. Shipment of Remains: Air waybill
    2. Shipment of Cremains: Cremation Certificate from the Indian Graveyard (Thattai Hindu Cremation Ground)
    3. Burial: Complete address of the cemetery for Burial in Bahrain.

**Kindly collate and arrange it into five (5) sets according to the order of the documents above.

SHIPMENT OF REMAINS/CREMAINS       

(Please submit/present the original and provide 5 photocopies)

  1. Employer/representative or next-of-kin of the deceased should submit/present to the Embassy the following documents:
    1. Submit the original passport of the deceased;
    2. Death Certificate;
    3. Medical Notification of Cause of Death issued by the Hospital/Ministry of Health;
  2. Provide the address and contact number of the consignee in the Philippines (either the NOK OR a funeral parlor)
  3. Request Form, duly accomplished and signed by the NOK;
  4. Letter of Acceptance Form, duly accomplished and signed by the NOK;
  5. Seen and noted copies of the following documents:
    1. PSA CENOMAR of deceased Overseas Filipino (OF) (Single); OR
    2. PSA Advisory on Marriage of deceased OF (Married);
    3. Proof of Relationship of the NOK to the deceased OF;
      1. PSA Birth Certificate, or
      2. PSA Marriage Certificate.
    4. Valid Identification Card from the NOK.
  6. Cremation Certificate from the Indian Graveyard (Thattai Hindu Cremation Ground) for Shipment of Cremains;
  7. Submit air waybill of the shipment of the remains/cremains to the ATN Section as basis for notification of the NOK in the Philippines, and for reporting to DFA and DMW.
